Euglena: "Knowledge is Power" The euglena are highly intelligent, and they are masters of analysis. Where other species can just feel "a bit warmer", euglena can detect how many degrees the increase was, in addition to the direction of the warm water current that brought about the change in temperature. Their analysis skills also extend to self-learning: They develop specific skills for each task they do, like harvesting, exploring or research. They also analyse the capabilities of other species they encounter, and they analyse the abilities of their opponents as they fight them in combat. They essentially get better at fighting a species as they fight more members of it. Their gameplay can be crudely summarized as a mix between Dune I and UFO Aftermath. Defining features: - Organized Ranks: 6 colonies of 10 identical cells each - Euglena Research: Learn new abilities from enemy remains - Limited Control: Set battleplans but no direct control in combat - Experts in Analysis: Very detailed information about their surroundings, including numerical readings of environmental factors as well as the exact statistics and capabilities of all nearby cells. - Adaptation: Euglena get better at what they do over time, be it research, harvesting, combat, exploration or any other activity.
