Formations allow the mass to be shaped according to situation, with commands like "defend your species!" to order your colony towards the last location at which a paramecium was killed, and "spread and multiply" to direct the mass to nutrition-rich sectors so the cells can multiply faster. Unlike the development methods of other species, the paramecii rarely follow learning patterns. Paramecii research projects do not have prerequisites and the colony can start developing any formation whenever they wish. However, the research speed is directly proportional to the number of cells in the mass, and more advanced projects still have longer completion times, making it difficult to develop advanced formations in small colonies.
